08-08-2025The Blu-ray I purchased provide the best quality I have ever seen in this movie. Just as good as being in a theater on opening night!WOW! Paula Prentiss as 110° in the shade. Tall and southern, what more could you ask for?Rock Hudson plays a fishing expert who has never actually fished, thrown into a contest by Paula Prentiss. Rock's love interest is the beautiful Paula Prentiss. Rock stars as a famous authority on fishing, dubbing it "man's favorite sport", but when he gets roped into a fishing tournament by Paula, it turns out he knows absolutely nothing about it. This movie is very silly, and it's no surprise that Rock's attentions quickly transfer from the river to man's true favorite sport: courtship.I loved this movie from the first time I saw it. It has one of the best plots of any of the comedies of the time. Howard Hawks created another one good movie. It is not his best. It is a good one for sure, and I cannot understand why this film is so under-estimated. Rock Hudson is very good. He has a natural talent for such films. He makes people laugh without being silly or without destroying his serious image. Also Mrs Prentiss is very good.
