09-08-2025convenient for single person. Been getting for several years...always have some in freezer. concerned that it isn't chilled when mailed or received but haven't been sick with food poisoning yet so guess it's ok

Bacon is pre-cooked, ready to eat right out of the package or re-heat per the easy instructions.For processed bacon, it has a quality taste like you would expect from Hormel. No weird after taste.The bacon has a light, sweet, smoky taste. Personally I like a more smoky bacon flavor but this was still ok.There is quite a lot of bacon in the package and neatly laid out in layers sandwiched between layers of wax paper.Has the U.S. Department of Agriculture inspected and passed seal on the package.Cons:It comes in a large flat package (15”x20”) in my opinion they could’ve packaged it more compactly so it could fit in fridge or freezer easier but this wouldn’t stop me from ordering it again.While the package was sealed, it wasn’t vacuum sealed like I expected it should’ve been and because of this I wouldn’t trust it to have a long shelf life without being in the freezer or maybe the fridge. But I may be wrong. I would check with Hormel on this point. Definitely freeze or place in fridge after opening per their instructions.The bacon strips while tasty, were smaller and thinner than the bacon you would cook yourself. Still all in all I would buy it again just for the convenience if nothing else.*This is the third time I ordered this product I love it so much!
