09-08-2025I'll be the first to tell you, I don't like the Isekai genre as a whole; I can count on one hand how many exceptions I'll make for that statement and over half of them are before 2005.Campfire Cooking somehow manages to hold my attention by being unapologetically goofy with it's premise. It starts off the typical way - people find themselves in a high-fantasy setting with crazy overpowered abilities and then we're introduced to the MC; a foodie who can't do anything special EXCEPT order things off 'the anime equivalent of some internet delivery service'. Could you imagine waking up in medieval times and still being able to eat Oreos and use Dove body soap?So our MC is trying to make the most out of the situation and ends up getting one of the most feared beasts in this setting as a familiar because it never had meat sauteed with steak sauce. Hilarity ensues. Soon more people are drawn in and intrigued by the MC's cooking. It's more slice of life than action-oriented and really explores the foodie angle of being stuck in a fantasy setting while still having access to modern conveniences. It doesn't take itself too seriously and really gets into detail on the dishes that are made and preparation needed. Lighthearted Fun.

09-08-2025I have seen this on Crunchyroll (both sub & dub) and I really enjoyed it. It’s not only a fun adventure, but you can also learn some recipes to cook. Even though there are only 12 episodes (manga still ongoing), this series is worth getting and definitely worth watching.

09-08-2025Campfire Cooking is easily one of the best isekai anime to grace us mere mortals. The story is excellent and chill; the animation is outstanding; the characters are likable, from our cute slime and the best dog, Fenrir. However, the most incredible part is the food! So many delicious recipes and meals in the show. Watch this show, buy the Blu-rays, and let's get ready for season 2!
